Hi everybody! I am originally from Boston, but I've always had the west coast in my heart, and I'm so happy to finally call the PNW my home. I live for the mountains, the fresh air, the water, the slower pace of life, the flannel - not to mention the incredible craft beer.
Over my career, I have practiced in a variety of treatment environments, including nursing homes, home health environments, and outpatient clinics. I hold a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, and I am experienced in working with patients on recovery, prevention, and chronic pain management. I am fascinated by the mind-body connection and the impacts of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system on physical function. In my practice, I implement a variety of treatment modalities to help my patients live their best lives, including manual therapy with massage, CranioSacral Therapy, joint mobilization, mobilization-with-movement, and traction techniques; exercise modifications, functional training, posture and work ergonomics, balance assessment, fall prevention, and assistive device recommendations.
I enjoy helping patients from all walks of life with varying activity levels and goals, from calming an overactive nervous system to walking a child down the aisle. Growing up, I enjoyed gaming and books more than physical activity and gym class. As I've gotten older, I've discovered that I love physical activity, but I like to practice it in my own way and on my own terms. I love to explore movement, trying everything at least once, from martial arts to timber sports, and becoming a MovNat Certified Instructor in 2012. These experiences and my own movement journey have deeply influenced my practice, and I look forward to getting to know you and learning about your relationship with movement. My hope for you is that you always leave my office feeling better!
